My waist relaxed above my belly button is like 33 or 34 inches. I have this cincher in black pvc in a size large and it fits. I got this one in xl because I want to be able to fit things underneath it. I'm sure it's adjustable either way. My hips are 40 inches around. I'm stating my dimensions because I'm so unsure because I'm not fat or anorexic so I'm trying to help a fellow not fat or skinny woman. These are great pieces. This whole collection. The buckles are functionally. This cincher is a staple. A must have.
